Lunar Rendezvous

Lunar Rendezvous

A Poem by barleygirl
"

life in these hills . . .

"

Hillbilly Hound Dog traipses in his loincloth
craving a midnight tryst with his shy gypsy moth
he bounds down the lane from stump to boulder
with dangling moss lightly skimming his shoulder.

Wazoo Wendy peers from her distant bluff
pondering possibilities as she bobs in the buff
suddenly swishing a spontaneous swan dance
the moon illuminates her primal coupling prance.

Moody Kaboody twangs on his mouth harp
surfing a shale landslide down a vertical scarp
eventually he splashes at the lapping riverbank
striking a pose to sell his seductive swank.

Bovine Babs exhales a plaintive mooooooo
after leaping the moon she turns cobalt blue
the wilderness wipes off a fierce summer scorch
as nosey neighbors seek Platypus Patty’s porch.

Bullfrog Bass thunders a tantalizing beat
as our crowd of creatures wiggle and greet
wouldn’t ya know here comes Catahoula Crazies
passing a harvest bong of delusional daisies.

Spazzy Sparrow and her crooning posse
drown out Wazoo and Kaboody getting saucy
no excuse needed to shake those tail feathers
a full moon beckons our monthly get-togethers.

'Auld Alans' mind is bamboozled at these shenanigans. I don't know what the f*** is going on but it sound like it might be fun. Every time I like at your work there's another batch of poems all perfectly constructed. Send me the details of your pills!
This one is a great rollicking 'lunatic' of a rhyme.

A real delight to read, even better on subsequent visits. Yep you have just created an incredible series of images in my minds eye. Any room down your neck of the woods for a little un?

NEWSFLASH!! Boondockian Lunar Shenanigans laid bare in Barleygirl revelations..

Loved the original humour and alliterative descriptions here. Margie.
Whilst reading it , I was "seeing" it as a "Looney Tunes" film cartoon (perhaps you are too young to remember them. *wink*) with a nice bouncy music score to accompany it.
