Dew Dance

Dew Dance

A Poem by barleygirl
"

for a friend named "Dewey"

"

Our summers here are parched and bare
gold hills reflect a stark gilded glare
too much yappin’ gets us crosswise
just leave me be to swat biting flies.

Finally September’s a refreshing drink
with cooler air it’s now possible to think
nippy nights stir our dreams of kissin’
frisky reminders of what I’m missin’.

Finally my mornings are dotted with dew
as wisps of smoke swirl ‘round my flue
the view improves with sparkling drops
love when autumn pulls out all the stops.

Tingle of moisture provokes a rain dance
all the wild creatures in a swirling trance
savor the vapor making everything damp
dance floor covered with leaves we tramp.

Dew drops on my face and my pulse races
with tickly fingertips drawing slow traces
autumn is my favorite time of the year
after longing so long for dew to appear.

This is really like song. This rhymes sing for them self. I can see myself dances among the falling leaves and branches. This is really nice creation.

I like the Fall too. Cooler days and nights. Halloween for the kids. The world seem to slow down. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Here in Michigan too. Had a perfect September.
Amidst the squabble over weather's cause,
It seems that autumn missed a beat this year.
The east glows warm with summer hanging on
while western fires destroy and bring a tear.

Perhaps this cheery 'memberance of what's been
will bring the dewey presence out again.

dear Margie... you have penned a charming poem of autumn with dancing leaves and swirls of smoke from your chimney. The dew is surely a sign that earth and heaven entwine in melodies of colors of love and affection. truly, Pat

I love the way you weave some of my imagery with some of yours! *smile* Fondly, Margie
I love the wetness and smoke of the poem singing its way through the autumn's season.

The air seems to hold more scents when damp! Thanks for understanding (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Beautiful images come forth as I read it,
yes, the dew on the grass and the fog in the air in the early hours.
Something that the season brings as the leaves go to the ground and become a colorful carpet.
Nice.
