Blue Moon Swoon

Blue Moon Swoon

A Poem by barleygirl
"

just for fun . . .

"

Distant dreams harshly harpooned and strewn
a loon faintly croons down by Phantom Lagoon
my broken heart swoons under a lofty balloon
it only ever happens once in a blue moon.

A late night commune with Rocky Raccoon
passion rains down a monstrous monsoon
impugned by impulse for flesh finely-hewn
awaiting the hex of the next blue moon.

Naked bodies spoon on a ravished sand dune
sensual synapses synchronize a new tune
blue moon swoon will be ending too soon
when Rocky reverts to a bumbling buffoon.

Tonight (Jan 31) is the second full moon in the same calendar month . . . that is, I'll be howling at the mystic blue moon! *yippee!*

This howling thing you get up to. Is this legal.
Do all the neighbours come out at the same time.
What I'm really asking is. Is this a mass skinny dipping, under the pretext it's blue moon night.
It's blue moon night.
We get naked in delight.
Run about the hills.
It's a lovely sight.
Grab the nearest guy.
Howl at the moon.
Hope he lasts all night.
Doesn't come to soon.
The moon's gone down.
So has he.
It really did come to soon.
That blue moon.

I liked the subtle playfulness in amongst the darkness of this piece. You have an intriguing style and am going to read on! Best Wishes!

Thank you for appreciating my zany idea of romance! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie
So many amazing uses of alliteration throughout this piece. "Passion rains" is probably my favorite line from the entire poem because of the adjective you used to describe the rain. Great piece :)

Naked bodies on a sand dune? OH MY! :) My younger self would have though that was so romantic. My older self thinks, "OUCH"! LOL So much rhyming here....my goodness! The blue "red" moon was much more visible on the west coast of the USA than here on the East coast, but I did see some lovely photos of it. So, I have a question....is Rocky Raccoon reading Gideon's Bible by the light of this blue moon? :) Very cute write, Margie. Lydi**

This is so well written. I've just read words that I never thought I'd see together, except maybe on a definition quiz, come alive and commune with each other. Gosh, it's so good.

Blue moon, blood-red moon and an eclipse are the three treats of nature we got this day you mentioned. As to men, a moon man can turn into a buffon after the fact and that is hillarious. I guess men are natural phenomenons too. Forgive us ladies...Lol
