Incommunicado

Incommunicado

A Poem by barleygirl
"

acrostic = first letter of each line spells out title

"

Incommunicado is my middle name
no words come when language goes lame
communication crashed within my mainframe
only my eyebrows feel free to exclaim
maybe my grin might be coaxed to proclaim
mini-frosted flutterbys with flawless aim
under their spell my inner whimsy is tame
nebulous apparitions coax a leafy game
instantly entranced by a sycamore flame
crimson imagination gilds a golden frame
and wicked daydreams say adios to shame
dreamcatcher becomes my new nickname
over the moon I found a fresh word game.

Last thing I remember . . . an abundance of tiny white butterflies fluttering all around my place every day & pretty soon my mind went the same way . . . sorry for going incommunicado . . . I've missed seeing & reading all my friends here at the cafe! (((HUGS)))

This is fun to read! I have been trying out acrostics recently. They are fun to write.

I enjoy the rhymes very much. I once tried to rhyme a bunch of the same sound and failed miserably.

I feel like it is the case in all your poems(I really do read them often, I am just so bad about getting to the reviews) that each line is written thoughtfully and the poem is packed without unnecessary wordings. Line 4 is fantastic!

I like the “F”s in line 6. It's a beautifully crafted line and I just really like the word “flutterbys”.

“Crimson imagination gilds a golden frame” is an intriguing line and I like the visual of colors.

Much enjoyed reading!

You are so right. You've captured my feelings towards words!
You add prosaic spice to this fresh, enjoyable piece. I especially enjoyed your creative phrases, "Communication crashed within my mainframe", "mini-frosted flutterbys with flawless aim", and of course, "crimson imagination gilds a golden frame", nicely done.

Thanks for letting me read it, and all the best,

Lanny

Woah such poetic incommunicado then, in communion with the celestial too. I ESP admired the poetic wordings sycamore, nebulous, and those lines as a whole. Such an awesome mono rhyme poem, brill and great to enjoy with poetic senses. Kudos I must say. Way to go barley girl

Very clever, dear friend. But 'mainframe'? Really? What year is this anyway? Or are you using the NSA's computers? :D
Just pulling your leg! Loved this. It manages to be smart, funny and flippantly sincere all at the same time. Quite a feat!
I take it this was written at the time that your computers were down, but if you are hiding a mainframe in your living room I'm not surprised you had problems! Lol!

Oh! I love this one! I think the funniest thing about you and me is that our styles could not be more different, but our thoughts are so similar... this made me smile - and admire your ability to play so well with rhyme - ps any good acrostic makes you forget it's an acrostic - this definitely fits!

Brilliant! We all go incommunicado now and then. But only a few make a poem out of it. You did that very well!

The rhyming is exceptional! Why don't you try writing rap? :D

Well, as a fellow evacuee (im blaming the red, rotund one for my absence), Inspiration hasnt so much left me this time, as I have went into self imposed exile until the christmas lights come down and all the jolly holly has withered and died.
I have been writing a little though,so perhaps it isnt inspiration leaving, but her taking a break from all my festive griping. It's either that or she has went to get my xmas present. All i'll say is, I bet its musical f*****g socks :)
Good to see you back Margie.
