Never gone...

Never gone...

A Poem by barricade
"

an ode to the dearly departed

"
For every blessing,
there is a curse.
For every good,
there is bad and worse.
For everything in this world,
comes with an expiry date,
for some a day early, for some a day late...

I fail to understand how he works,
or what goes through his mind,
when he pens down ones destiny,
and what he leaves one to find.

He brings people into ones life,
only to take them away someday.
Everyone is destined to leave,
and some we our-self throw away.

Someone once told me,
that life's a revolving door,
people come and they go,
like wave after wave hitting a shore.

I wish life was more like home,
wherein people may settle and stay.
They might have to leave for a while,
but always back at the end of the day.

The body may come to expire,
but the soul always lives on.
He might take away the people,
but their memories and love are never gone...

Whaooo....this poem is so beautiful, so painfully true and yes i also wonder how he pens ones destiny, how he knows who to bring to your life at a particular time, no wonder he is who is, lets just live our lives wishing us the best, appreciating the people brought in our lives, appreciating closed doors and believing for better open door. I loved reading this poem and I see i have have been missing a lot on Wc.

Thank you for this piece barricade, you are talented. Am gonna shelve it to my library.

This was a great read. From format to meter, rhyme and substance. Not to mention message. Thanks for sharing. You are a talent to be reckoned with. :)

This is a heart wrenching truth, everything comes with an expiration date... Memories and the love left stay forever... unfortunately this is true of bad memories as well as good ones... Very well penned. Thank you for the rr... shallimarRose

Though the evidence is present daily some want to believe that they are beyond human. It's about what kind of legacy you'll leave behind. God has given us the spirit of free will to do what we will with our lives. If we wreck, it's on us. We'll going to die someday. Us humans have one big pre-condition that we like to deny, we're mortal. Wrestling with our humanity daily. It's in that struggle we have a choice to make, to blessing or a curse. Good piece!

Hey Barricade,

Thanks for asking me to review this work of yours .....
Firstly I liked the way you've 2 shades of grey to tableau the emotions ....
each words has that pain being impersonated precisely .....

Secondly , if this is more than a poem ...than sorry for the loss .....

Hearts are often hurt deeply with the loss of the loved one ... I pray God will help each and everyone to find a way to keep the sweet memories alive , to heal their broken hearts and to keep them open to face another day because life will move on and the sun will shine once again ..... you can't choose whom to lose but we can choose how to live life after the loss is incurred ....

I personally like the saying " Because someone we love is in HEAVEN , so we have a little bit of heaven in our HOME "

You have written a very beautiful poem ... I got a bit emotional
thanks for this amazing write up and share !!

Cheers!!
Tuvi
