Vacationing South

Vacationing South

A Poem by BLBrown

I’m vacationing south for the winter…

Wretched sea, wretched sky, wretched land

Horrid torrent, horrid suction, horrid demand

Rotten stream, rotten lake, rotten bay

Vile mountain, vile valley, vile decay

Frightful stone, frightful wood, frightful ash

Dreadful body, dreadful spirit, dreadful repast

Nasty him, nasty her, nasty they

Awful burnt brown, awful ash black, awful coal gray

Shameful me, shameful them, shameful we

Hellish domain, hellish visit, hellish Hades

…uh oh, this IS just a vacation, yes?

This is not a good poem to wake-up to!! You should go for lighter fare, but I tricked you with my title! Much apologies!! (I want a 2 hour nap.)

My two hour nap did wonders for me, and this is the first thing I pick out to read! Wonderful style, Barbara. Let's hope it is just a vacation! But pick someplace warm next time, not hellishly hot! :)
I sense a place of unbearable despair, no way out. Very well written, as usual.
