Yet I Smile

For context purposes, I strongly believe in being happy, no matter what the situation is. I wrote this poem during a tough time in my life, in which i wanted to not be happy. To not smile.

I have died so many times,

yet I still breathe.

I have scars of all kind,

yet I still bleed.

I have lost my way,

yet I still tread.

Many pieces of my soul I have sacrificed,

yet I still pray.

Many people I have cherished,

yet I still do not feel loved.

Many hours I have learned to hone my skills,

yet I still waste time.

I have died so many times,

yet I continue to raise every break of dawn,

yet I continue to walk this vicious cycle,

yet I continue to smile.
