A Poem by No Middle Ground

Just a quick piece I wrote to help myself exorcise a depressive episode.

Are you out there?

Do you feel my heart calling out to you?

Is yours calling out for me too?

Can I not feel you through all the sadness?

Can you not feel me too?

Where are you?

Can’t you hear my heart crying out for you?

Is yours not crying out for me too?

Do you still have a heart beating in your chest?

Do I?

When will you come?

Do you even care that my heart screams out for you?

Has my elegy fallen upon empty ears?

Has your suffering swallowed your soul?

Are we together bound and divided by our misery?

Does this mournful song ever resolve?

Would you even care?

Are you there?
