ode to the dog moon

ode to the dog moon

A Poem by Amy Craig Beasley
"

the moon this month is called the dog moon by some - this poem is for that moon.

"

a dog din
a howl in
a moon-less- night growl in
dog days
canine crazed
a fiery blaze
 south
of the line
north in time
to be
east
and
west
and
home
a full moon

O dog moon
invisible
fume
red
blue soon
and white
July
will fly
and a new moon
will end
this
bark
bark
bark
in the night

until then

the dog din

will haunt my sleep in

and the lights

reflect - in

and the dreams

in keep in

will be

wolfish
