At Night

At Night

A Poem by Sasha
"

Being ridiculous as ever. Based on a true story, though.

"

Sometimes, I like to go outside at night

To have solitude and contemplate life

What have I done wrong, what did I get right

Fantasize about the guy I like

And how I'd like to ride his... bike

If you know what I mean

Can't blame a girl for having a dream

And boy, does he put it down like a man

You can't beat the game if you don't have a plan

Anyway, I know I'm getting side-tracked

But I like to go outside and think of things like that

If I decide to touch myself, you would never know

But I enjoy the thought of putting on a kinky show

Increasingly excited as each car passes by

"I'm positive they saw me." is my naughty little lie

I lift up my nightie to feel cool air
On places it's woefully illegal to be bare

Should someone be watching unbeknownst to me

I hope they are happy with what they see

Satisfied for now, I turn my gaze up to the sky

Resting in peace though I feel so alive

People are all bees and this world is our hive

Realistically we're workers, but queens in our own eyes

Seeing a sky so vast, I'm reminded of my place

I'm but a freckle on the a*s of the entire human race

Such an eloquent thought brings a smile to my face

But mosquitos are attacking - back inside, post haste!

I obviously wasn't too concerned with the flow.

as always big fan of rhyming. I felt like this would read out like hip hop lyrics, and i think the rhythm was just fine to boot.

You said, "But mosquitos are attacking-back inside, post haste!" which lead me to believe that when you go outside, you are trying to free your mind from all that is going on (or all that went on). You are trying to find a peace that you don't know where it is to be found.

The poem is amazing. I like the girl in this poem. A strong and powerful young woman. I like the story and the strong statements. Being free and strong is the best days in a life. A very good ending. Mosquitoes always win. A excellent poem.

umm...very 'out there' I would say,not something I would personally read, but the part with the bike was very funny.

Haha- "Fantasize about the guy I like/ And how I'd like to ride his... bike"
After reading your profile, I knew you were witty, I just wanted to see if it came out in your writing which brought me to this. Swell. Forget the flow, it isn't important anyways.

Very humorous poem to me. I enjoyed reading your poem. Made me laugh and think too. My favorite lines in the poem are the following: People are all bees and this world is our hiveRealistically we're workers, but queens in our own eyes.

Lots of wisdom and humor in this poem for everyone to enjoy. Thank you for sharing.

And why should you be concerned with flow when it's like sweet iced tea on a hot summer day? I love the honesty here...and I can relate more than I'll ever admit on the internet. This is definitely going in my library!
