Poison Apples

Poison Apples

A Poem by Elizabeth

poison apples
taste sweeter
with sugar

salt in an open wound
tickles
if you close your eyes

and lies are the truth
if you stand
on your head

I love the last stanza. It kinda reminds me of a fortune cookie.

Each passage rests on its own canvas of thought... pain mingled in pleasures... a mind playing tricks on itself... a world gone mad... or a world gone sane. Now, which is it I wonder? Stunning.
