CHAPTER - 6

Dear Diary

Around eight years ago, I came to this place leaving behind my past forever. But I never knew that my past will follow me like this. Today, a very fortunate accident happened with me. I left Natasha with a mind to never see her again but after a month only, I constantly hoped to see her just for one more time. God is surely very kind, for today I met her again…after eight years.

I was there at a local mall purchasing something when I heard a voice very familiar. It took me just a second to recognize that it was Natasha's voice. I looked around and finally found her. She was fighting with someone there at the mall. I gradually came and stood near her, and started to stare at her. Then suddenly, she saw me and loudly screamed my name.

We then both went to a nearby café and after eight years we sat like that, but for our surprise we both were finding it hard to chat like we used to do before. May be we both were changed now and are not the kinds of person that we both were liked to be. But, it was all fine, since I wanted to see her face again at any cost and the rest…well; the rest was all a surprise.

It was then during our conversation that she told me about her divorce from Chad. I was totally shocked after I heard that but she was just looking fine with that situation (or maybe, she was just pretending to be fine…like me….).

She then described that how after her marriage she found out that Chad was not the one for her and then just after a year of their wedding they both decided to end up their relationship.

I was so sad yet so speechless after I heard that news from her. I then apologized to her for being out of touch in all those times, when she wanted a friend like me the most. Yes, she was totally mad at me for my behavior at that time and I don't blame her at all….Because, anyone would be mad if their old friend will deliberately change their city and that too all without giving any prior information. Not only that, for all these past eight years, she constantly mailed me all the e-greeting cards of seasonal festivals, and in return I didn't even bother to wish her once.

Well, yes I was wrong and I was rude and I realized all that while I was talking to her. Then as we continued, she told me how she got shifted to this place a year back and found it so peaceful. We then exchanged our phone numbers and our postal addresses. I then found that her house was not at all far away from my place, so I thought of dropping her home.

I thought of taking a cab but then she insisted me to walk, and then that’s what we did. While we were walking down the silent streets, memories of my school came when both of us used to walk like that. I realized how things have been changed now but still it's not too late. I met a lot of women after I came here, but I felt for no one the way I felt (and I still feel) for Natasha.

I then, thought of letting her know about my feelings. After a silence, I gathered all of my thoughts and my self-confidence and finally with my determination I just thought of telling those beautiful three words to her. But as soon as I was about to say something, she stopped walking and said –"Here comes my home, thanks for walking with me down here"

Surely, it was not in my God's plan to make this day that special one. She then wished me "Good night". I did the same, and left the place.

After sometime, I came to my home with endless thoughts about her. I really thanked God from the bottom of my heart for letting both us meet again and that too like this. I'm not sure about my future but I surely know now that God must have some plans for me and for Natasha.

But yes, I'm surely going to remain in touch with her. Everything happens for a reason, and there should be a reason for which, me and Natasha met today after eight long years.

Good night!
