Abandoned and Forgotten Bouquet

Abandoned and Forgotten Bouquet

A Poem by Kyari Hasutto
"

For the "Pick Words Like Flowers" contest

"

The silhouette of windswept petals

Drift down from the bouquet

Abandoned down upon the street

For the others to do what they may

Entwined within the flowers

Is the twilight of dreams

The stardust of kisses

The whisper of tenderness

The raindrops fall upon

The kaleidoscope of colors

The feather of a fancy hat

Is the only trace of a clandestine love

When I began reading this, the mental picture just swam with a story flowing on a movie reel. The usage of the words really had made the piece what it is. It may not have been straight forward like I have seen in some of the poems that you have read, but I find that the interesting play of words to create an image is quite interesting. I wonder if you should try that again.
Try what makes you develop. Eventually an ugly duckling will be a swan. Or the cockroach to being a lobster (which really is only one evolutionary step away from each other).
