Untaken Paths

Untaken Paths

A Poem by bigfootprint
"

Now that I can, I don’t want to.

"

My mind becomes increasing clear

As wanings chart pileup of years.

Fortunes begged on bended knee

Shine from forest once hid by trees.

All the lust in covetous veins

Too often seeks what God disdains.

Piety comes when needs are few.

Now that I can, I don’t want to.

Yet newfound wisdom reveals truth.

Heaven spares impetuous youth.

I thank God for untaken paths,

That rerouted me here unscatht.

Turns out wisdom is realizing you already know the things you spent a lifetime anticipating.

I like rhyming poems, this is no different. Good tempo, I enjoyed reading.

BFP, this is why we must abide in Christ and he taught us to pray
'lead us not into temptation"

nice rhythm and rhyme, perhaps you meant "unscathed"
