My First Love

My First Love

A Poem by TAY 2

She was my first

My first true love

She was like a gift

That was sent from above

I loved her til the death

As if death do us part

And i prayed to god she wouldnt break my heart

But we had a couple problems

And then we broke up

But i missed her

So i opened my eyes and woke up

I didnt talk to her

Or see her for a while

But then we got back together

I couldnt help but to smile

She was like a gift

That god gave to me

We are still together this day

And i want people to know, cause see

She was my first love

And her name is poetry

As if death do us part - perhaps you could deepen the emotions you are trying to get across by saying death couldn't do us part?

The twist at the end was marvelous. Simply unexpected. I was quite sure it was going to be about a male & female relationship, but your twist at the end; astonishing!

I liked this poem, liked the way how you set it up to be something, and then sucker punched the reader to realizing the twist. So your first love was poetry?

Well I hope you don't give up on her then. (Oh, I liked this more then your previous poem)
