Drifting Alone

Drifting Alone

A Poem by Footprints al carbon

Everything in order,
all in its place;

Life may be a marathon,
but it's still a race!

Day after day it's them before us,
night after night a sigh and a cuss.

Where have we been?
We can't quite recall.

What time is it?
Is it spring or the fall?

Day after day there is struggle and strain,
night after night a stretch and some pain.

Just as the world turns,
you're never alone,
I'm right here beside you,
just drifting alone.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
