Still

Still

A Poem by Brenda Sue
"

There was a park across from the hospital where my late husband was.

"

Children playing in the park

Dogs chasing balls

As all the world grows dark

I watched my love die.

Layed him to rest.

Beneath the Green Sky.

Still children play in the park

Dogs chase balls

And the world goes on.

This one really shows how life around us go on while we suffer from great grief.
It's hard to comprehend how the world around us keeps spinning while a meteor just crashed into our heart.
But that's just the way it is in this world, and we have to accept that.
I hope this poem gave you that closure you needed.
Very touching and well written.

brenda, love this special poem, reflecting your thoughts with a sense of gracefulness, the imagery is transporting, takes the reader to another place and time, the breakdown, the form, the meaning is very well written, tremendously touching, heartbreaking, as the reader grieves with you, this poem is a beautiful memory, sad, caring, encouraging, and holds the one close to your heart for whom you still love.

This is so touching Brenda Sue. I will never say I have felt the pain that you felt I cannot claim that but you have related your pain and loss hugely here. I am sorry for your loss and the poem is beautiful.

And that's about how it goes...I always think about that when I hear a siren in the distance somewhere and realize in that instant that someone is going through something and who knows what it is, but for that moment when you first hear that siren you stop and realize that. Then as quickly as the sound fades you forget about it and go back to what you were doing. Of course if you're the one in the ambulance or if someone you love is in there it's a completely different reality, one that you don't get to see unless you're in the middle of it.

Great write here Brenda...I don't know how you do it, but you write out the reality of your grief and what you've been through and make it accessible to the rest of us...while also at the same time giving us a life lesson. Thank you for sharing so much for yourself with us.

My heart overflowed and my eyes followed suit. You write from your heart. How old was your son? My son was four.

I like this - liking as I mostly do - emotions in short... emotions that run deep. This is very good.

It's very sad... I'm guessing this is refering to what you wrote in your profile. You becoming a widow would be horrible but even through it all you managed to release some grief through writing. I may be young but I know what it feels to be sad. I also use writing as a relief. I'm sorry that happened to you and I hope all is well now.

God Bless, Joe
