Our Love Can Never Die

Our Love Can Never Die

A Poem by Brenda Sue

Life just isn't the same since God came to take you away.
It's a blessing they say because He took you.
I just never imagined it would end this way.
I couldn't comprehend you'd actually be taken away.
Now I have a void in my heart since the day we've had to part.
The pain is still here; I grieve for you every day.
They say with time it will heal
but there's not enough time in the world for this pain to heal.

I pray you know I've loved you from the very start.
I still can't believe your gone,
I thought we'd live together forever,
I don't know what went wrong.
I always think of you when I hear your favorite song.
I love to think on me your looking down.
I think of you just as I did before,
Because no sudden gust of wind could ever close our door.

I write you this because I know you're there,
that after death there must be more.
I pray that you hear me when I pray,
to know for you I'll always care.
I'll never forget the lessons you taught,
like love is given to be shared and life isn't always fair.
You showed me God is never out of reach and He will always care,
I'll never forget His words, to me you always preached.

Even in death our love Can NEVER die.
Honey, I LOVE YOU Rest In Peace

Brenda, your poem makes my heart break a long with yours. They saying losing a spouse is one of the hardest losses there are. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my mom to suicide in '97 and it was the worst pain I had ever known. I wrote about it in Suicide Nightmare if you should want to read it, so I do know pain, just not the pain of a spouse.

This is very well written and heart felt. Thanks for sharing, hon. :-)

brenda, i have to say repeadedly ovber and over i really loved the style. clarity wording, how words define your thoughts, as your passion is a light, shining one can feel the power emanate forth from the meaning,
powerfully invented,, i am personally very sorry to hear about the loss of the one you held next to your soul with love and still do, i personally thought everything, the form, wording, rhyming, brilliantly devised

The grief and love in this just come off the page...some structural problems though.
