My Rea-Sons for LIVING

My Rea-Sons for LIVING

A Poem by Brenda Sue

Hear their laughter
Coming down the hall

Feel their soft kisses
As hurrying out the door

See their beautiful faces
Smiling as you come home

Smell the nectar of parenthood
As you learn more than you teach

Taste the sweet success
When they have grown and left the Nest!

I love my children, they have been my whole life. I am also a foster parent and I have loved each child that has pass through my home. It is funny how they teach us more than we do them. I pray that I have given them something that will make or shape them into the best they can be.

I am not a parent but I actually almost started crying while I read your poem. I can't explain what touched me, maybe it was the visuals. All I know is my reaction to this poem. I can honestly say that I love this poem, I am not sure about that last line though, it is a powerful idea, that I love, but I am not sure about the words. I really like the title.

brenda, one can feel your m otherly love projected through your words, you capture a portrait vision that speaks valumes in insight, loving paraental emotion, the clarity has a way of delcving to the readers soul, as well, the meaning is passionately depthful, and draws upon the heart, what it means to know family love, as well as the growing and passing of time itself, beautifully touching, endearingly lighthearted reflections

A very visual poem, very sad and yet reminds us that no matter how tough gets, there are always little things that make it worth going on.

Very beautiful poem, I hope to see more soon.

Brenda--such a simple write and yet rich with meaning. I know from experience...enjoy every moment. I use to hate it when people would say, "It goes so fast..." but it is true, so capture every moment and hold the precious ones in your heart. My two oldest are married and my youngest is already 17. This is perfect in its simplicity. You could have easily written in great detail about what parenting is with all the pros and cons, but it wouldn't have been as lovely as this. These little glimpses into what your life is with your children, along with the knowledge that you never teach as much as you learn is just beautifully written.

This is a touching piece. Never really thought about how my mother felt when I left home. Lovely words

A beautifully written tribute to your children....going through the years children's roles do change. At some point, they become the parents. I enjoyed this very much. Lydia
