Have I been loved?

Have I been loved?

A Poem by Nayan
"

I know I am loved, and that I have loved! Still that incompleteness that always evolved! Let me too gain wisdom of the unknown, And fill that sense before I am old grown!

"

I have been loved,

Or Have I been really?

When I was child -

Getting hurt even so mild!

My Mother, leaving her work in the farms,

Used to come and lift me in her arms!

When I found so tough -

Tying shoe laces was a muff!

My Father, always helped me cope,

He cared such, was always full of hope!

When I burnt my feet -

And sat on chair, eating bun of wheat

My sister li’l brought back the ball,

Each time, on the floor, that I let it fall!

I have been loved,

Or Have I been really?

When I was young -

Found the lessons very very long!

My teacher had faith in me, every time on,

He cared so much, in those days bygone!

When I used to win or lose -

My heart needed to share, happiness or sorrow that ooze -

My friends, feeling proud or joked, much fun we had,

I never understood, that they were for me, glad or sad!

There is love in every leaf,

In the fragrance of flower and sprouting of seeds,

Like water on your palms you can but keep,

Just feel it in air or in the play of the kids!

I have been loved,

Or Have I been really?

Is Love a sacrifice?

Unbound! God! Never vice!

Or is it a feeling of oneness?

Between a prince and a princess!

I have seen love, if everywhere -

Why do I feel I missed something?

I have got love, if in this sphere -

Why still me an incomplete being?

I have loved Nature’s wonders,

And lost when she shares her splendours,

And have loved children and flower,

Do I still need a makeover?

I have been loved,

Or Have I been really?

I have heard about the Love

Between a girl and a boy!

Is it love? - So confined and selfish!

Or is it love? - That gives such beautiful joy!

Love that makes one die or kill!

Love that makes one renounce one’s will!

Love that saves with warmth in cold, a life unknown!

Love that blinds one from the world that was all known!

I know I am loved, and that I have loved!

Still that incompleteness that always evolved!

Let me too gain wisdom of the unknown,

And fill that sense before I am old grown!

There are all kinds of love, between girl and boy, man or woman, mother and father's love, love of country, love of friends, love of nature, love of one's faith be what ever it is but there is also love of self. We if don't love ourselves I think all those other loves won't help us feel complete. Love of self is important and sometimes the hardest of all.

Wonderful wonderful poem I think!

I lOvE this poem!!! I constantly find myself wondering if the people I love, love me back. Or even if others love me and I just don't know it :} I guess we just have to send out love as genuinely as possible and hope the ones we send it to don't laugh in our faces. Thanks for the request, and great job! :}

not love between every boy and girl is so . . . not every mother's love is so pure, not every citizen's love towards the country is so genuine . . .in that series . . . not every love between a boy and girl is so true

Yes your love is incomplete with out a girl. She would be adding that missing thing (good/bad) to your life, that makes your experience of love complete.

So, go ahead and try that too :P

Love is a big word. In your description you described many kinds of love. The Mother's love is forever. Love for country and home is necessary also. Without love in this world. This world would of been long gone 2000 years ago. A outstanding poem.
