Alone in the dark

Alone with my thoughts

thoughts of love and loss

my love turned away

loss i feel deep in my soul

 

my thoughts are as dark as this room

rejected at my most vulnerable

love has turned to anger

anger to hate

hate to darkness

 

i am home here in darkness

loneliness does not exist here

i am alone in the dark

but i do not feel it

 

darkness comforts me

it cannot hurt me

it holds me until the pain is gone

in darkness i remain

alone
