Sea of Love

Sea of Love

A Poem by Drako

The storm has passed

alone I sit on the shores of my mind

looking out over the waves

the reflection of myself has changed

I see myself differently

Am I weaker now than I was before?

No, my strength is as eternal as the waves of the ocean

Have i changed at all?

Lessons have been learned

Love is an experience

it is like a hurricane

a natural disaster

we can't stop it from happening

It comes on so unexpectedly

there's a thrill in love

riding the waves

venturing into deeper and unchartered territory

until we've gone too far

we can no longer see the shore

Lost in the sea of love

we struggle to find an anchor

and to survive the treacherous storms

until that one wave overcomes us

and somehow we find ourselves on the shore again

on the shore we sit, reflecting on the disaster

reflecting on what went wrong and how we got caught

until inevitably we venture into the seas again

we cannot resist the thrill of those waters

it is a part of us

as surely as I breathe,

I know I will make this venture again

hoping for a different outcome

But preparing for the worst all over again

Such is the fate of lovers all over

I dug this very illustrative piece.

I liked the poem but the grammar bothered me, like not having uppercase I's and such but that's just me. The poem was good.
