if i would have known

that you'd have to go

so suddenly, so fast

there were so many things to be said

if time had been on our side

but alas it was not and here i stand

how could it be that a sweet memory 

is all that we have left?

now that you're gone, i go on

but life just isn't the same

i'm so empty inside

but i try to face the pain

now that you're gone,

i can still fill you near

so i'll smile through the tears

and wait for the day where i'll see you again

i'm missing you

but i'll find a way to get through

living without you

you were my friend

my strength and my pride

only God may know why

but i must get by

i will love you for all of eternity

my beloved friend, my first love

as you watch me from the afterlife

i want you to know i'm doing what you want

i'm living my life

but that will never stop me

from missing you

Awesome poetry my friend. I loved it :D and holy hell how i'm crying now. Usually your poetry brings tears to my eyes and that is just amazing. You somehow take poetry right out of my head and write it down :)

This is so sad. :( I liked it, though. Time is indeed cruel because you never know how much time you have with someone, which is all the more reason to make the most of the time you have with friends and family. I've learned that the hard way. Another amazing poem!
