Reach Out

Reach Out

just a poem

Reach Out

What

would you ask of me

that I simply stand

and watch

as another is hurt

some new blood

is spilled

you cannot

it is far more

than I can bear

my hurt

and hers

there is no difference

victim

undeserving

fool

labels lose meaning

I have seen

from where she kneels

and I would not

have her be there

if I could kneel

in her place

our ties

hurt to hurt

desperate hand

to desperate hand

our ties

are strong enough

to reach across

any distance

there might have been

between us

now we are just

two survivors

I like how you are able to portray raw feeling in your poems. In this poem specifically, I could feel the hurt and consoling care that you offered to the person in pain. From your poems I have seen so far, your biggest strength is connecting your readers to the feeling you want to convey to them. Continue using your words to do so. Well done!

when dilemmas abound

and somehow poetry
reveals beautifully
the layers of a situation

About
Well, I'm a good ways past weird or odd and pretty solidly into the land of "I'm going to pretend I didn't see you because I think you're insane" by most people's standards. I love to read and write, .. more..
