Hansel and Gretel

Hansel and Gretel

A Poem by sette

Two children of a woodcutter.
has a new evil stepmother,
psychologically insecure and bitter.
Gretel's beauty stood out
and this made the stepmother
be a b***h.
Hansel, the ever protective brother,
can't let go of the pranks played by
the stepmother.
The woodcutter, oblivious to all
still in the fantasy land
enjoying the wiles of the stepmother.
One day, the couple decided that
the obstacles should be out of the way.
Hansel and Gretel should not return.
Deep in the forest,
Brother and Sister saw a house
full of bread and cookies.
Maslow's first need comes to mind
Oh how they devour the food!
The witch suddenly appeared
in cohorts with the stepmother
has to get the siblings lost forever.
But Hansel and Gretel are survivors,
tamed by the angry winds of the past.
The brain is the powerful tool.
The witch failed in her mission,
she lost to the siblings
because of one melting pot.
Stepmother devised another plan,
this time the woodcutter was back to reality.
Oh how he cared for his two children.
He filed for a divorce from the bitchy woman
and everything was back to happiness
for this loving family.

Ah, a 19th century fairy tale with perhaps the most creative modern twist! I love the originality here. And, so much of modern society and culture artfully weaved into this poem. I also like how you brought "Maslow" into this piece. Another example of your creativity. Beginning to end, amazing creativity. Well done!
