Back to the Drawing Board

I am as I try to pick up the

Shattered pieces of my life.

Adding Insult to the Injury

Were the people

Whom I thought I can trust.

Love is an emotion

That has no price tag attached,

But still costs an arm and a leg.

The Betrayal was actually

A blessing in disguise

Coz’ the realization happens.

Elvis has left the building,

I was in pain

I was hurting,

But every cloud has a silver lining,

It is time to let scars be healed.

Time to move on finally.

Love and trust is a tricky balance to achieve but when we see it like you said a blessing in disguise things become so much more real and balance can then be achieved with acceptance of right and wrong- rejection is Gods protection- joy comes in the morning, the sun shines at every dawm🌹

Sette, see this was first posted on Valentine's day, Feb 14th, so I am hoping by now that you have found that cloud with the silver lining. No doubt about it, love hurts and betrayal sucks big time. Hope you are in a better place. Your poem conveys your feelings well to the reader.

You'll know when the time is right :))
No point in standing still, keep moving I say, it's how they know some of us are still alive... and keep ya eye on that silver lining too..........some scars leave nothing of them self behind, so let them go...... Nice... Neville

thanks my friend for a wonderful review and appreciation
I usually have it out for clichés but somehow you've woven these together so artfully, I love it! Congrats on winning 2nd in some contest (don't keep track of contests but I noticed it on my newsfeed). I love the way you do a slight twist on some of the worn-out lines to give them a breath of life again. This truly does not betray the fact that you were inserting certain phrases on purpose! *smile* Fondly, Margie

It is only with the loss of love that we can find both how weak and how strong we can be.
