peter pan syndrome

peter pan syndrome

A Poem by sette

Man

With the Peter Pan Syndrome

refuses to grow up.

still locked in the Never-Never Land,

thinking that there is Tinker bell

ready to make the wish come true.

Wendy with the faithful dog, Nana,

patiently waits for Peter Pan to return

to reality that is,

Man,

just like Peter Pan

still trapped in fantasy

refuses to return

and be with the woman

he loves.

Woman,

just like the patient

and ever loving Wendy

waits for the return

of the person so dear to her.

Love is indeed a sacrifice,

the question  still hangs.

Will Peter Pan finally  grow up

and be a REAL MAN?

i really do love this poem and you really capture the point of peater pans relationship with Wendy and his unhealthy way of coping with never land things that children over look in the story with just seeing people fly and fairy's and the concept of never aging and staying young forever

no problem
Do men ever really grow up- it’s only the toys that change- what a wonderful free poem of fantasy love and hope wishes and everlasting dreams of never never knowing- but be careful what you wish for- never say never- 🌹

if only was as easy as the wave of a magic wand. there is a price to be paid for everything. takes courage, not magic to follow our hearts but that is what we should do. not an easy thing.

you're welcome ... :)
Why is it when we're young we're in such a hurry to grow up, then when we get there we want to go back? Is there a happy medium in wanting to never grow up?

I enjoyed your fantasy exploration, Sette. Great thought process and diversion. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind learning how to fly! ; )

I can say for true I am one of the Peter Pan. I can also say I live with women who I love. I don't think there is something wrong a out it. At least reality became more creative a day full of positive influence of my fantasy. If you are really happy don't matter what other people think. When I see so called adult a small grown up people how they talk about money aND politics they are all ridiculous to me. Like there is nothing else . But there is lot of to discover at your self and others. I can reccomand you book by Gunter Grass tin drummer it's also boy who refuse to became adult but this refuse help him survive second world war. Each thing have more side then one there is nothing completely wrong and there is nothing completely right. By the way people with dyspraxia are very unmature for very long time.

You welcome I always try bring some another point of wiev. Stay strong too and happy Tuesday.
Surely you are a true "romantic". Unfortunately there are some "boy-men" who
refuse to grow up. They need the sharp whip of reality to see that what they
seek has been there all along . All they need do is to realize it and appreciate it.

Take care - Dave

totally true my friend, i am not only a true romantic but a hopeless romantic too..
It is natural to hang on to some hopeless dreams and childlike innocence, in this harsh world it is impossible to stay like Peter Pan forever. Wonderful writing.
