rejection

rejection

A Poem by sette

I was in my freshman year,

my most hated subject was next

on my schedule.

I just hope my professor

will be interesting.

Maybe it was my lucky day

after all,

not only was he interesting,

but good looking too.

If there really exists

love at first sight,

then maybe I was in love.

My most hated subject

became my favourite subject

all because of him.

And that  hero worship

turned into infatuation

or maybe crazy love.

I gathered my guts

to send him a sweet love letter

with all the pouring of young emotions.

Next day, I received a note

in my locker,

thinking that it was a sweet

reply to my letter.

Without reading,

I was daydreaming,

I was floating in air

I was simply ecstatic.

Back to reality,

a few minutes later,

holding the note,

it had read;

“Stop this foolishness,

do something about your grades”.

He took me for a fool,

a blind, lovesick fool.

So this is what it means

to be rejected.

So painful.

Aw my dear > a young girl too
To be cast adrift > and you in your shift
Love never run straight
You just have to wait
Till another nice man come along
Another more handsome
Cleverer
Younger
Your age
Foolish young lass falling for a sage
He dosent deserve
A nice girl like you

thanks for a wonderful review
foolishness is part of the big game of youth. if you would never risk; you would never know.

1+1=2 in theory and reality.

youthful fancy vs the rocks of reality ;) ouch! i had a 5th grade nun teaching us that gave me write-aphobia ... if it wasn't too big...it was too small...inclined too much, the wrong way, too straight ....you missed the line at the top of that "C" ..do it again ..arrrrrgh...no wonder i turned into an unruly teenager ;)) but ..i survived...she died .. and life is what it should be eh!? great read..and i don't mean to make light of the pain that rejection inflicts ... and the turn at the end places a good punch to it...i think this would make a good short story ..or written as prose perhaps ... just a thought ;)
