eudaimon

eudaimon

A Poem by sette

Eudaimon according to Aristotle

Means great happiness,

It is something not thought over and over,

But something felt by the heart.

Simple pleasures,

Giving you a reason to smile,

A zany joke,

A harmless prank

Brightens up the day.

A tall iced espresso,

Warms my heart

Especially topped with whipped cream

Definitely makes my day.

Playing with incorrigible nieces,

Joking with my daughter

And with tetay as my companion

Completes my day.

After a stressful day,

Full of left and right responsibilities,

I look up at the sky

And utter a silent thanks.

With every heartache,

I have to bear and endure

Through the years,

I forgot the many blessings.

A smile from a friend,

A text from a special friend,

A glance from my best buddy,

A warm smile exchanged between my parents.

These are the simple pleasures

That spell out EUDAIMON.

'Eudaimon according to Aristotle ~ Means great happiness, ~ It is something not thought over and over,
~ But something felt by the heart.'

An extravagant word, rarely heard by mere mortals like me.. but so beautifully exampled here.
Phrased with charmn and gratitude, sette.. praising the simple sweetness of and in life. Thank you.
