Deranged

A poem about a deranged man talking to himself

Ask me what love is and I’ll be out of words

Love is complicated that we can't possibly explain!

Yet we ask for that thing we see and seem to understand

We are foolish to think we can comprehend this

We see people who love so much and tend to hurt more

We often see warm embraces and the wonder of their kiss

“It's because they love one another!” Fool! WHAT IS LOVE?!

You are feeble-minded to think that way! Imbecile!

“But ask me about her and I can tell you everything”

“The things she loves about herself and the things she doesn’t”

“The gestures she does when she is shy and when she’s mad”

“The way she flips her hair and the cologne she wears”

“Is this love?!” I can’t answer that question for love is strange

“Is this an obsession?!” I can’t seem to understand that question

“Am I stupid to think that I too can love?” I’m not sure bud

“Is it okay to hope for love?” I think it is

To hope for love is addicting and tiring

Wonderful at first but at the end bitterness awaits

“But would it hurt to hope for love?” Idiot! Of course it would!

“I love bitter chocolate!” Sure you do man, sure you do
