The beauty of writing, and reading

You know what I liked most when I took a dive in this wonderful world of literature, I will tell you.

I was not much of a social fellow, I had some friends but I could never mingle or fit in their circle,anyway,i took to reading ,you know when you pick up some great write of some good writer ,he is either writing his bio,or doing some story out of imagination, I always knew it will reflect his ideas ,thoughts, about life death and so critical issues that he could not tell about only as a story ,saying this is not his life ,only later when he was asked by some he will tell ,its this character or the other that's him in the story.

so you see ,when you read those great minds ,you know exactly what they think ,and what they feel on some diverse issues in life ,issues that always made me wonder how others will look at it ,and there it is ,you just open a book ,one after the other and you will see those great minds ,how they look at things ,as diverse as they are as they come from all different cultures and different backgrounds, different spots on this amazing world of us, all you gather in your laps ,now imagine if you were serious about it ,you will take all the fruit of their minds in your brain and it will mix them together and bring out a new version ,the way your brain will look at things only after it has absorbed all those great thinkers ,after it had mixed them together and added your own thoughts ,then it will bring forth a whole different impression ,so imagine if you have read those great minds over some centuries past till the present day ,and you put your thoughts together having all those great ideas you gathered from the so many reading ,then you try to put your thoughts as a story ,you will never believe how beautiful it will look to the whole world ,they will say oh what a genius,becuase in fact it was not only you who wrote that story ,it was all those great men helped you do it .you know as I see it these great men while helping your mind get so beautiful as it mixes with theirs ,at the same time ,those great men are forever immortal as their thoughts are shown over the years in some other stories only they may get more polished ,this is the wonder of this world of literature ,and I truly believe the more you read ,some real serious writers ,you contribute to the wealth of literature and honoring those great men ,who will at the same time pay you the favor by adding a bit of their genius to your mind ,oh what a lovely world ,I really hope everyone can see how great it is ,and what wonders it can do to so many lives, in a very complicated way

Your joy of simply being is evident in this. I esp like '...becuase in fact it was not only you who wrote that story ,it was all those great men helped you do it...' It is just such common sense. Also it debunks the notion of the individual a little, which is a good thing.

See, now I'm very different. I cannot read if I'm working on a project. I cannot have outside influences, everything has to come within and if I pick up a book and read, I lose the flow, break the silence and shatter the image. Then, what I write will be terrible.

But I can feel your passion. I used to read a lot, back before I got serious with my writing. Then it stopped. And now I don't have time.

You keep on reading. Imagination is the human heaven.

I agree completely. It is true that we are influenced by what we read to an enormous degree. It all helps us to understand the world a little better, by learning about different people and cultures and absorbing their feelings and thoughts through reading. We get to know them, but we also gain a greater understanding of ourselves by reading great writers' works.
The world of literature is as vast and wonderful as the actual world. The beauty is that anyone who can read can virtually travel the world via the mind. It is an wonderful way to learn about the world. A very thought provoking article, Moayad!

I feel the way about all the writers I have read. I just believe that one day I will write something that is just as great (maybe better!) then what captivated me about their writing.

Well we can certainly see that in this writing! You make me want to read!!!! Gosh it's been so long since I've read anything off of WC. Well.. unless you count the poetry book I bought from a fellow writer here. I was touched by his words and felt richer having read them. Actually, something I penned yesterday came about in a way that it wouldn't have had I not been reading things on here yesterday, so of course you speak the truth. Then, I've never known you to speak anything else.
This piece transports me and beckons me to read read read and read some more!! I have tons of books... all calling out to me. Wonderful write, my friend, absolutely!!

You have made some very valuable points here, Blue. I agree with much of what you say. All writers should be well read, as it will only serve to make us better writers. By reading and reading, we adventure into new, unknown worlds... absorb greatness... or at least try to !

There's so much to learn in life... we can't learn it all, impossible, impossible... but we can use every day to learn at least one thing new... even to how a cloud forms or how a great writer describes just that.
