Critics Again

Critics Again

A Story by bluessadmood
"

always wanted to tell this..there is always more

"
this place is getting like you are coming here for a degree in writing,ha ha
over the years and its been like 4 years now i am here
its getting ever better and more..reviews here are for free
and they tell you for sure how much you rate ,and how far you stand tall and good
i am following the reviews ,many are getting real professional
i take it real serious ,its getting like a habit..sifting new talents
every day we are faced with new faces ,and its like a responsibility to tell
each and every how far he is gone ,and how well he has mastered his goods
Now.... to go on with this some need some more thinking about it
yes its for free ,its for friends to do a better job..but at least
some thanks will be in place and some pleasant words of appreciation and respect
i at times spend an hour(a whole hour) at each piece..some will have to be more considerate
i noticed some come here just to be reviewed and never care for anyone ,as let all go to hell
i hope i am wrong but i do see this a lot..its never nice..and when you post some writing
it should have some content really worth reading..you just dont write few words and post them
as the word goes its for releasing your inner feelings ,as this is true too,i think most come here
to get their writings seen ,reviewed and get better at it..just a few words i always wanted to say

Ah Moayad..I am glad that You wrote this...many have noticed what You have noticed but Writerscafe needs these eye-openers once in a while :)
But You know...I think that there are more of those people who wish to pour out their soul for us to see and share it in reviews than those who are absently present or those who just want reviews and to be told of their genius...I think that perhaps one should not despair while a handful of the first kind of people mentioned are around to inspire us all :)
You know, when I read your reviews...I can tell that they are from the heart :)

I'm glad you shared of your experience here. Like all communities, there are good points and others, not so much. As for me, I'll take the good with the bad, because we can really grow as writers here.

I agree with the sentiment, most come to this site to post, get feedback and read and review others. Reading and reviewing others is as important or more important than being read and reviewed. You learn by reading the work of others, it expands your mind and often clarifies an idea. Only being read and reviewed and never returning the favor would be like paddling a boat with only one oar; you just go in circles.

To Dear Friend Selene
Ohh God dear Selene what a wonderful review..i hoped lots will comment here
it will shed light on lots of things and make it easier and work here goes more smooth
I loved what you said about the technical format and the different flavors,i could not agree more
yes and what you said about writing and reviewing from the soul..and pouring your own soul into it
and i agree with you, that i read a piece and the heart behind it,i swear ,sometimes
i close my eyes and feel through it,i never really think it,if you know what i mean
it comes from real love of this world of creativity..thank you dear ,Selene

Writers cafe is an eclectic community of writers and readers~
Each and every one of us has a unique flavor~each and every one of us a personal reason for writing and sharing said writing~
Some write from the soul and desire reviews pouring from the soul~how do you critique the soul?
Some write from a technical format~mindful of count and parameters~and they seek constructive critique from a professional perspective~
So many flavors here~what a wonderful ice cream shop of diverse and beautifully blended flavors~
I have seen reviews that were one liners~ and it is more than obvious when someone didn't even bother to read a past the title~ but to each her/his own~
I've encountered reviews of such length they become a thesis~ sometimes hard to follow~
And I have seen some pretty nasty and mean and confrontational commentary that seriously fell short of actual critique and flipped over into the ugly~
Personally~ I will never critique from a technical format in public~ poetry is like ambrosia to myself~ to be slowly sipped~ I review from the heart and the spirit~not from behind an academic desk~ however I have no problems working with other poets on their writing in private which I've done several times here now~
But these are simply just my perspectives~ we all aproach every aspect of existence from such unique viewpoints~ trapped as we are in our own minds and fragrance of reality~ poetry is the bridge between souls~

I deeply appreciate the honesty in your writing, and your appreciation of those who are here. The cafe has become for me an enchanted place to share ideas with the world... I read here mostly for pleasure, not syntax, as an escape from the world, and as a way to understand and live in it that much better.. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.. every day..

critics are the mainstay for a place like this ,some will put few funny words ,its nice but the goal is to
give your mind to whats written..and give any sort of advice if you have some ,or else you may not have read it at all
i am not being a big head here or a senior ,far from it..i just thought to give it a deeper thinking into it
you have to direct the writer where he is heading ,to a good direction or a bad one
dont give false hopes ...its not nice to them even if they feel overjoyed with a positive review, thats not the point
to dear writers dont post anything unless you see it fit ,or it has some impact or some nice ideas
it the whole intention from a site like this..i find critics very important..you tell in nice words
whether he made any good addition or just few words meaning nothing
the whole goal out of it ,to get everyone on a good track to reach somewhere...

my problem with my reviews is that they're short. Sometimes, I leave a single word, but that's the way I write mostly, unlike this comment I'm leaving, which I know is longer than many of my writes.

It is true, many come along pieces and give one liners, less than a critique or even understandable comments. I would keep writing and hoping for more, as you have stated.
