Insomnia

she enjoys the smell of fresh sheets
and pillow cases at night

right after her shower,
but in between that brief moment

of sleep
and
insomnia

being so tired but
unable
to fall asleep

because she has a monster
hibernating under her blankets,
slumbering in her head

insomnia was never

friendly

insomnia was always

unkind

driving her mind
to the brink of

insanity

overwhelmed
and worried
with her own

words

slowly and
with maximum effort
she drifted

off to her own
dreamland
where her worries
lifted and

disappeared

Haha yes, as we speak it is 2am here and unable to sleep again! Thank you for liking this piece
Friendly, unkind, insanity, words, disappeared. The red words to me show the process for which your unconscious finally exhausted the rigorous repetition thus extracting you quietly into the manifest content, and eventual deep sleep. Well done.

Take care

I'm glad you liked it, a lot of people suffer from insomnia these days
I dislike when the mind won't rest and we can't sleep. I liked the flow of thoughts. I did like the ending. When we find sleep. Body is content. Thank you Kesha for sharing the amazing poetry.

I did like and you are welcome Kesha.
I love the way your poem is so original on so many levels -- the way you present detailed ideas, the interesting page layout of colors & fonts, plus the way your observations about a very common thing do not sound anything like anyone else ever described it. That last thing, to me, is the most important aspect of good writing (((HUGS)))

Thank you so much for another lovely review, I'm happy you liked it (((HUGS)))
I too like the smell of fresh sheets and pillow cases. Lol. I really liked the colours employed purple tends to be one of those calming colours while red is associated with trouble and problems. I loved the way you contrasted the two opposing colours.
