Hope (Higher Power)

All I can ask

is that you are watching

over me

and keeping me safe

with a Higher Power

and guiding me

down the straighter path

where the trees

are sparsely littered around

and the light

is too bright

for all those shadows

that threaten

and haunt me

leaving me with chills

All I hope

is that you knew

you were loved

and that moments of heat

were incinerated

and left to blow in the wind

like leaves in the autumn air.
