Gourmand night

Gourmand night

A Poem by Latifa

oh foul gourmand night,
your shades have such an appetite;
savagely chewing bites
from our hoary moon.
oh my bitten moon,
you shan't grieve,
 your pale crescent is our relief
with milky beams of yours,
you solace the tumultuous roars
of an old man's wars.

They construct the ego, that is for sure.
This is a good combination of mystery and word play. Excellent work.

just written poems and shell shocked at how much imagery you create from just reading the words. nice poem.

Indeed a fine poem, one of the best from Latifa ; admire the centrality of the theme, the organic imagery, then the critical last line that makes me think of Bush and Blair..

You are welcome muchly...:).......
An ode to moon. An ultimate fascination of both, men and women. Loved reading it, specially when it is hard to see moon where I am these days, being surrounded by concrete jungle.
