A Restless Mind

A Restless Mind

A Poem by Brenda Alicia
"

Insight to a restless mind

"
A darkness arose--
The spectators of his mind were amazed.
How something that shined so bright;
Was a simple display.
The only guide to his mind is when the words hit the page;
He found it to be a maze,
or an abyss of intentional self hate.
He sought redemption from bleak memories
and impartial traits.
It wouldn't define him--
The shadows he so often danced with; tormentors of his mind.
A perpetual trance--
It was rare when he thought in advance.
He would toy with the idea but he know it would leave him isolated
He needed the monsters, he couldn't stand being alone.

To face reality--he could never do it on his own.

Self hate is a dangerous thing but there are times in life when you feel nothing but that.. This was quite a melancholic piece which I was able to relate to.. Nicely penned!
