A Subtle Light

The Lord is our Refuge. Seek out that Light.

Disheartened to see the world before me so apart from morality and civility- they lack common judgment

They take on one another as if we’re not in it together.

Why is it so hard to remember?

The times where pursuing happiness was a little bit easier.

Now it is a futile cause that requires intense reasoning;

Questioning their motives and even our own; could they be ulterior?

It’s draining and makes us feel so inferior.

So we lead with anger; a cause familiar to us all.

Because we’d be damned before they break down our walls.

But there is a light .

And it’s a subtle reminder to never choose sides.

Unless it is His- the only perfect being to exist.

Surrender your heart to God and you'll be sure you’ll never reminisce;

About those disheartening times, I know it takes courage to quit.

But our Lord is fair and Just-

And his word will always be enough.
