Today And Tomorrow

I'm Sad and I also feel bad having nothing on this account

Today is one of the first days I have spent without you.

It is a dark sky, a frigid and bitter wind.

It is immobility.

Silent indifference regarding what's to come

And silent torment over what has been.

It is hiraeth and hanahaki and heartbreak.

Everything that was certain moved a few inches to the left.

And everything that remains is unraveled to reveal

How you were woven into every fiber of everything I ever knew.

Tomorrow is not for you.

It is for me to move on from yesterday.

It is daring to lift my heavy head up from my folded arms.

To look about at the things that remain

That in time, will be entirely mine to rearrange.

It is the lighter shade of gray between every cloud

That does not warm the air, only serves as a reminder

That the very next tomorrow

And the one after that

Will continue

To 

Get

Better.

a little Welsh and a little Japanese ... pretty well rounded says i ;) i read this as the breakup of a once mutual love relationship ..so the hanahaki must be part of whats left when (she) (he) leaves :( i really like this:
"And everything that remains is unraveled to reveal" ...if we have loved deeply and been left ..we know exactly what this line implies ... its almost too difficult for words eh!? well done and i really like the courage of the soul that takes the punch, shakes out the foggy head and gets up, then one step at a time trundges on until walking then running then leaping are made possible by time and healing ...tight knit, well told tale in poetry ..wouldn't think to change a thing

Question: Hiraeth is a Welsh word, but has two distinct meanings,I know it's a very deep, pervasive homesickness, but it can also mean a much milder feeling;nostalgia. Which way do you mean it?
Hanahaki? I only understand that word because I love horror movies.That can be cured, but you lose the love, which is sad, even if it was unrequited. Guess I'd rather have the disease. I would just open a flower shop...

There's a somehow timelessness in this, including words and phrases unfamiliar. The phrases say more than most yet seem near covered with fragility. Perhaps one is supposed to search for logic, emotion, rather than feel there are hidden layers needing an introduction into both past and future.. hints, cues.. a smattering of ideas. Mysterious, indecipherable
