Lover's Farewell

Lover's Farewell

A Poem by B.E. Gonzales
"

This is for my ex-crush. Well, it's about time I move on.

"

Farewell, my dearest love

It's about time I go and set you free

Like the master setting free his dove

You’ll never be happy with me

Here I am, reaching for the door

With my head up high

And my feet pressed against the floor

I promise I won’t cry

A new life awaits me outside

And it’s a life without you

You know well I’ve tried

To stay with the life I knew

Now, I shall go

And I won’t be coming back

But I want you to know

I loved you so

Goodbyes are hard in a life. You wrote a strong poem with the experience of a veteran writer.. Your poetry is very good. Ending left love as the last emotion between two people. A perfect ending to your poem.
