To The Girl A Few Rows Down, To The Left

To The Girl A Few Rows Down, To The Left

A Poem by Bryan Wang

A few rows down to the left,
I can only see the back of your head.
Finger twirling through your hair,
I'll stare at you here and there.

I don't know you, you don't know me.
But we can pretend we're happy
Like two dolphins takin' a hop
Enjoying the sun shinin' on top.

Sometimes I smile
At all of the possibilities.
But I'm only in denial
Cause there's no way I'm gonna speak
To you, to you.

I like the way you walk
And can only wonder how you talk.
Black looks good on you,
Do you think so too?

All these thoughts are just thoughts
So it ain't like my heart's in a knot.
When love is easy to make believe,
We could, all day in a dream.

So you'll live your life
And I'll live mine.
Maybe by chance
One day we'll be holding hands.

Or we'll just mix in the crowd
While the music plays loud.
Don't forget we're strangers,
Heart and mind not in any danger.
