Thrill of the Run

Thrill of the Run

A Poem by Bryce Simonds

Today I sat down and realized,

I ain't got no one.

All I got is a picture of the family,

And the thrill of the run.

I ain't got no one to hold my hand,

I ain't got no one to take with me to the promised land.

All I got is the thrill of the run.

So I lay in my bed,

Thinking of no one.

Wondering why I'm alone,

And how far I gotta run.

I ain't got no one to help me get by,

I ain't got no one to take with me up into the sky.

All I got is the thrill of the run.

So tomorrow I'm gonna wake up,

Gonna wake up with no one.

With emptiness as my partner,

I'd say I'm done.

I ain't got no one to share my love,

I ain't got no one to take with me up above.

All I got,

Is the thrill of the run.

"With emptiness as my partner" I really like that line; it's very catchy. As for the whole poem-I wouldn't change a thing.
