Days by Days, Years by Years

Days by Days, Years by Years

A Poem by Bryce Simonds
"

10th poem

"

Days by days, years by years
Life grows with many tears
Harvest the tears to grow further more
Do not end it all, do not shut the door.

Sun shines day by day
Feel its warmth with every ray
Let it dry your tears as they pour
Do not end it all, do not shut the door.

Live by a day, die by some night
Do not give up; do not lose your fight.
Stay with your friends, that’s what they’re for
Do not end it all, do not shut the door.

This was a great poem. Very well worded. Very interesting. This is a good poem against suicide.

The repetition of that last line works well; i guess that's the important message, so it's good that you keep affirming that throughout.

"Harvest the tears to grow further more" - i thought that this was quite an interesting piece of imagery. I'd suggest changing the line above to "Life grows, watered by tears" or something like that, to extend your harvest metaphor.

Nice write.
Thanks for posting it.

Spotted one typo:
"as they poor" (pour)
