Bitter Sweet

Bitter Sweet

A Poem by Jen

Once my soul

Was filled with sweet

Golden light

When I had Angle wings

And flew in the warm sun

Perfect as it was

For it was too much

My soft wings

Caught aflame

And I started to fall

Down below

In the unknown

I was confident

That the others will see

That I was falling

And will save me

But no one

Even glanced at me

So I tumbled downward

The smoke choking me

The Fire burning me

Until the darkness

Got so thick

It put the flames out

Now it chokes me

I’m drowning

There is no one near

To help me

I’m blind

In this eternal darkness

That mends my wounds

But erases my happiness

A darker knowledge

Of this world

Enters my mind

A bitter truth

That fills a void

In my soul

Can I crawl back?

Toward the warm sun

And be free and happy again

But become ignorant

Or the painful darkness

With it’s bitter truth

The one for me

Which is the better one?
