The Road

Life is a journey look and see,

At all the wonderful things you can be.

Travel along the dusty road,

And walk among the young and old.

Drink from crystal clear-blue springs,

And live in a wonderful world of dreams.

Dancing in a field of flowers,

Your life is marked in minutes and hours.

The road you walk can be short or long,

It all depends on which road you’re on.

You could walk upon another road,

But you’re not sure of what it would hold.

Would it bring you deep despair?

Or would it give you more to share?

Would it be filled with rocks and thorns?

Or the place where first love is born?

Some travel in a family pack,

Others travel alone and that’s a fact.

But whichever road you choose,

Make sure you take in all the views.

Whether you’re alone or not,

Take each lesson the road has taught.

Once in a while rest along the way,

And listen to the things that others say.

When your road comes to an end,

Look back and see just where you’ve been.

I hope you smile with delight,

And that it is a glorious sight.

For the road you walked you made,

And wave goodbye to those who stayed.

I agree ^^ this was very practical and realistic but at the same time it was creative and poetically strung together. Those kinds of opposites are typically hard to put together, but you managed to pull it off quite nicely :) I like the central message which this was built around, very true. All in all, great write, no mistakes/critisicm/suggestions. Great write :D

Yes it is very good i agree completely with is poem and it made me think. Poems in my opinion are suppose to make you think. If my mom would read this she would give 10 thumbs up if she had that many lol... I gave it a 100 it is amazing what you can do with words!!

This poem is so true. "The road you walk can be short or long,It all depends on which road you're on." I especially like this line, it seems to really capture the essence of this whole poem. It gave me goosebumps reading it! I really like it.
