Imaginary World

The first friend I ever had

Was a special one to me

Invisible to all,

He showed himself only to me

A friend just for me

 

Then, as I grew up

More began to join him

I soon was surrounded

Invisible friends all my own

No one else ever saw them

 

Then, as I got older

My parents began to tell me

They only existed

In my imagination

But I know they were really real

 

As I continued to grow

They continued to tell me that

Until even I believe

I began to ignore them and push them away

And pretty soon they disappeared

 

Then I was all alone

No special friend next to me

I soon became sad

There was no one to play with anymore

No one to console me

 

Then he came to me

My first friend ever

I told him to never leave me again

He told me he had never left me

I was no longer alone

 

I had my friend back again

But I knew my parents wouldn't be happy

But then I had an idea

If my imagination had created them

Then maybe I could create a world for them

 

So I used every bit of creativity I had

And I created a special world

I no longer saw them around me

But whenever I could

I visited them in my imaginary world

Hey..well penned..could I suggest something..u may continue to put a comma in stanza 4 and 5 after 'Then'. It would make it symmetrical to the 'Then' in stanza 2 and 3..thus giving a flow.. :)
