Masqueraded

Masqueraded

A Poem by Rayne

You played it commendably my friend,

Bravo!

You’ve fooled me well.

Easily done to one

Like me.

The epitome

Of an open book.

Discreetly,

You plucked my

Violin strings.

Led me to believe in the

Impossible.

Faith in the

All Mighty

With prayers of

happiness and eternal life.

Keep your panegyrizes’,

I no longer

Need or want them.

You’re a deceiver,

A liar,

A vacated friend.

I’ve been guided,

Beguiled,

Ensnared and betrayed.

Bamboozled,

Deluded,

Swindled and tricked.

Keep your otherworldly

Professions of love,

and friendship

to the prayers you say

while kneeled

abreast of

You and your Wife’s

Sanctified bed.

WOW! This is a powerful poem, and to the point. It sounds to me
like a affair occured. There are a lot of different emotions here,
yet I wouldn't just blame them all on the man. AD

Yeah !!! Now this is what this contest is all about. WOW!! You have managed to hit the nail right on the head. Almost every line could have come from my life's diary. So very heartfelt. I loved this poem !!
