Who?

Who?

A Poem by EMMIE

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
All I see is red
The blood of the young is shed
If karma is a b***h then what do monsters get?
Bullets in the head?
Poisoned snakes in the bed?
And who resurrects the dead?
The nailed God who bled?
The Demon with his evil breath?
Delicious smells to young nostrils, feeding them like birds on bread
Hungry brains full of violence, constantly fed
So who's to blame for this bloodshed?
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
All I see is red

You are welcome.
I enjoyed this piece. Bloodshed just should stop. Red is one of my favorite colors as well. It may stand for that, but still awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you!
Well, I can't say I haven't seen my fair share of bloodshed but the media glorifies it. The cartoons for children glorify it. People dwell on it and expound upon it. While I feel like the character Captain Call in Larry McMurty's Lonesome Dove when he said, "The best thing you can do with death is just ride away from it." Life is too short to become enraptured with horror...I prefer, love, peace, hope, caring, beauty, honesty, integrity, courage and honor...things of THAT nature. But it's a personal choice.

Red is a powerful color. Madness, violence, communism, stop...etc. Nice quick poem.

A interesting poem. Like someone walking through a dead city where blood and death is all that is left. Great description led reader into blood and death. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
