SQUASH

SQUASH

A Poem by EMMIE

Sitting on the tracks

Waiting for the click clack

Ain’t no going back

Caught up in the train’s track

Lay-ed out on the rocks

Waiting for the choo choo

And I aint comin’ back

Once the train has gone through

Now the train is coming

Looking at my clock

Right on time is coming

Click clack squashhhhhhhhh

there is a sadness here but also an understated desire to choose our own destiny.. perhaps I will use a child's rhyme when it is my turn..

the images are surreal and the tale that much sadder, well penned..

Very simple but packs a punch, no need for a lot of emotion to be expressed here because I think the line 'ain't no going back' sums it all up and with understatement belies the simplicity of sitting on the tracks and waiting for the end.

Oh my. This is sad. I would never even think of something like that. This is a good poem because the childish noises you added make it even sadder knowing what happened.

Nice flow of words and a sad ending. You are on a flow for writing tonight. A excellent poem.
