WHERE DID THE BODIES GO?

WHERE DID THE BODIES GO?

A Poem by EMMIE

Striped clothes
Pants, shirts, hats, and shoes
Even little shoes of little ones
Piled up all together
In that gas chamber

Once those pants hid inhumanly scars
Once those shirts hung loose from skeletons
Once those hats covered shaved heads
Once those shoes housed bloody feet

But now...

Striped clothes have no bodies to wear

No problem.
You tackle one of the most horrific acts of pure evil in the history of man kind. Powerful, enlightening. Good work here Emmie

Thank you!!! =D
Short but very powerful. I watched a documentary about what they did to the men. I can't even fathom the horror. You are a bold poetess:)

This poem really hits home for me. I have Jewish relatives and if you go back far enough I had family members in Europe during this period of time. I have always though of these things as painful reminders of the destructive powers of human beings. Like you write "Striped clothes have no bodies to wear." They have been incinerated by malicious men.

The world gone mad, still it continues . Brother killing brother.Poignant title too and deep.

An unbearably sad evocation.

yes very disturbing but a part of our tragic world history that we as humans must never forget. Excellent.

that was disturbing yet also to be a wake up call to those people hid their past to start a new life but letting them remember that their past will be slowly shown by the people who is new to your life.
