Since The Days, When The White Knights Road Proudly Good Men Have Been Fighting, To Protect Their Family's !   The White Knight   Men should be willing to put their lives, on the line for the ones they love Your loved ones are a gift, sent from the lord above   Sacrifice everything you own, to please this precious dove Do without yourself, to be sure everything, is just right for the one you love   Your love for her is deep, within your very soul To please this princess, is your life's only goal   Let no harm or evil, fall upon this wonderful jewel If your intentions are true, you will not be a fool   Remember she was sent to you, from the lord above Always treat her with respect, and give her all your love   Your actions may be questioned, your very intentions may be misunderstood You must not waver, you know what you are doing is true, pure and good   Your battles will be fierce, you will fight bravely, many things you may lose, some losses may be great Stay fast, lose everything, do not show your fear, just don't lose the one you love For if you do, your life will never be the same, the hard fought battles will be lost, and for you, it will be to late   In the end your sacrifices, you alone will only know You will proudly go on, awaiting the next battle to be known   Your love for her, must be deep within your heart, your intentions must be pure, - so is the life of the White Knight Fighting for the one you truly love, is a battle well worth all the pain For if the battle is won, you will feel her love for you, take flight   So There It Is, The Life Of The White Knight By Ray Hamilton Not a poet and I know it ! © Copyright 2 / 2008 All rights Reserved   Please Visit Me at The Poet's Nest www.thepoetsnest.com

Very romantic conception, and extremely well presented. Whether there are any 'White Knights' left in our modern, crass society, is open to speculation. It's a medieval concept, from a time when life was much simpler and more straightforward than today. Plus, they didn't have Womens Libbers in those days to put a spanner in the good intentions of those who showed good breeding. Certainly an ideal to aspire to, however. Full marks there!

Yes, we should always fight for those we love; whether that is a lover, family or friends.

'Men should be willing to put there lives' - 'there' should be 'their'. Sorry, but I am a literacy teacher and can't help but point these things out :)

When I hear 'love' 'dove' and 'lord above' rhymed together I must admit I cringe slightly because they are widely used rhymes. I could have missed the significance of these words though. But it is clear you write with a good sense of humour which makes your work unique and fun to read.
